So What About Yee?

The question at hand: what is yee? Yes, exactly!

Not the word "yee", but rather the subject matter of this post.

Well, would you look at that, Halloween is today. And thus means Christmas is quite honestly just around the corner... In any event, I've always loved Halloween, and when I was a youngster could think of few things as fun. The one night when as kids we could run around like hooligans, stay out at night and ultimately, eat as much candy as we bloody wanted. It truly makes me miss being 8 years old.

And trying to think back... I was once a dinosaur and I was once Batman, though that's all I can remember.

Though as much as I love Halloween, I admit to having not celebrated it for some time now. Truth be told, I just haven't the time to properly celebrate it. Which thus also means I haven't been to a proper Halloween party for in a long while... On the other hand, Halloween parties are kind of lame sauce; my friend Jeff probably said it best when he said: "Halloween is just an excuse for the girls to dress extremely slutty and not feel bad and for everyone to get drunk". That's hilarious because there's a great deal of truth in it.

Though even If I wasn't going to a Halloween party (ies), I wouldn't mind handing candy out to youngsters. Would be great fun, but unfortunately, I haven't any candy, nor the proper decorations for such a thing. Go and buy some you say? Nah, not this year; I'll have the blinds shut, the front door entrance light off and of course, the lights turned down. Will aim for next year though.

For those of you going to some sort Halloween party, or perhaps taking someone trick or treating, or even going yourself (assuming you're a youngin') - have a great time!

100 Votes Collected

Yup, now is the time. But in case you haven't been following my Blog and am wondering what the hell I'm on about, here's the skinny:

I submitted a photo of myself on HororNot.com last Friday, and was waiting until I collected at least 100 votes to post my score. See my two previous posts on the subject
here and here.

Anyways, so here's my score.

I'm not sure how the graph works considering the peak is at 5 and the coloured bars have been in constant fluxiation, but my average (or perhaps median?) is 7.6. Whatever the hell it is, I'm pretty happy with the score. I've never considered myself "good looking" by anymeans, but my overall score is much higher than I would have rated myself.

Reading Blogs

I dunno about you guys, but I love to read other's Blogs. Actually, I enjoy reading them as much as I do updating my own. I find it highly interesting to read those of people that I don't know.

Here are a couple that I read:

"I am a tragic hero"
http://lolasneverland.blogspot.com/

The Blog belongs to a girl named "Lola". Lola is 23 years old, a vegetarian, is training to be an actress and from what I can ascertain, lives somewhere in Utah. She's an interesting character; undoubtedly intelligent and ultimately charming. I very much enjoy reading her posts because she seems like a cool person.

Another Blog which I recently started reading is:

"A Day in the Life"
http://elizabethboom.blogspot.com/

This particular Blog also belongs to a girl and her name is "Elizabeth". She's a much different individual than Lola; more opinionated, more snippy, more aggressive and irritated by smaller things.

Well, that's all for now. I'd better be off, got to go for my daily walk.

Emo's & Their Activities

So what about 'em? Well, it had recently occurred to me that I had yet to write a post about this supposed new sub-culture of Goths which we refer to as "Emo's". If you haven't a clue as to what an "emo" is - which honestly would surprise me - check Wikipedia's entry HERE.

Anyways, it's no secret that those classified as "emo's" are not openly welcomed by the general public. They are most always criticized, ridiculed, made fun of - you name it, actually. Often they're stereotyped as "Satan Worshippers", "drug addicts", "suicide-thinkers", "depressives", "complainers" and God knows what else. Talk to most anyone, and they'll say: "emo's, what a bunch of losers".

Though here and now, I have something to get off my chest. Something which I haven't told even my closest of buddies (until now) for the fear of them not understanding. I don't see why everyone hates them so much. Now don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty as anyone for making jokes in relevance to them, but deep down, I do it purely it for personal entertainment and think no where as little of these people as some do. It's just a sub-culture, it's nothing evil or demonic. Truth be told, tis no different that some materialistic metrosexual bastard who buys things for self satisfaction and boast-ability. I think no less, or no more of them than the emo culture. And I pose the question regarding their complaining: are they really that different than "us"? Hell, I know tons of people who are nothing similar to that of am emo and complain to no-end. And myself... I complain all of the time; non-stop in fact. Yet, I'm not an emo. If complaining makes me emo, we might as include everyone who has a Blog and a MySpace too.

In any event, another reason why I wrote this post is because I once knew a girl who was pretty much an emo. She didn't have dyed hair, nor ghostly makeup, but she did wear lots of strange black clothing (long coats), complained to no end, and had somewhat of a boys haircut. And despite that, we became great friends and no, she didn't draw satanic circles on her bedroom floor. Nah, she was just normal. Admittedly though, I know that she had the hots for me, and thus is most likely the reason she befriended me in the first place - though we were never Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

And though I'm not into the whole emo thing, I wouldn't have any issue dating someone who is a bit of a emo or social outcast; whatever you wish to call 'em.

Ahh yes... The photo of myself that I entered on Hotornot.com has now collected 74 votes. Though, as I mentioned before, I'm waiting until I get 100 votes to post my score. Should be a couple of days...

So Then...

Yeah...

Honestly, I cannot think of much to write about at the moment. One of the few things that comes to mind is that last week's episode of Heroes was absolutely kick ass. Other than that, the weather has been very cooperative over the last couple of days - still chilly, but we're getting actual sunshine.

Oh, I've thought of something.... You know that site called "Hot or Not" where you upload a picture of yourself and people from all around the world rate you based on your supposed hotness? Well, I took the fall and uploaded a picture of myself a couple of days ago. So far I've collected some 46 votes and my score is... Nah, I'm not telling you just yet. I'm waiting till I get 100 votes to spill the beans.

Awful Sleep

Ooooo....

I had such a shitty sleep last night. Aside from repeated awakenings, tossing and turning, I must have had at least five dreams. And my dreams are never normal, their never about winning the lottery. Oh no, they're always about everything I was thinking over the course of day before I hit the sack. Thus means they are usually 1000 subjects combined into one surreal package. Here is a brief description of the dreams I had last night:

1. A Pakistani security guard (no, it's not a racist dream) refused to let me into my own building because he said he would have to take the time to deactivate the alarm system and he was too tired to do it. What the fuck, eh?

2. There was a girl who had lost her pink ball cap and it turns out some other girl had stolen it and was wearing it under three ballcaps. She revealed that she had stolen the ball-cap, to everyone (including the original owner), in a movie theatre.

And last, but certainly not least:

I dreamt that I went to the local Porsche dealer here in Vancouver to see an Audi R8 and once I got the chance to see it, I thought it looked absolutely terrible. For whatever reason, my mind molted a late 80's Toyota MR2 rear end onto the R8.

WTF?

Today

Groggy... That's how I feel.

I feel worn out and tired. My eyes are not only burning from not receiving enough natural light over the last two days, but they're slightly baggy with a tad shade of black underneath them. My skin is pale and colourless - as per usual, but worse. And all of this despite the fact that I went for five walks today in what was our sunniest day in some two weeks. I feel phased out, and thus is a result of the boat-loads of rain we've already had. It's not even November and my body already feels like a worn out shoe.

Anyhow, that's quite enough of my bitching. Take a look at this photo I snapped earlier today:

Notice the white Porsche GT3 to the left? Guy on my street bought it about a month ago. Suffice to say, it's sweet. As for my new camera, well, I stand by saying it's inferior to my Z612. Still, I'm more than happy to have a camera.

New Digi Camera

After a some two month absence of having an operational digital camera (see here), I finally scrapped together enough change to purchase a new one earlier today.

Admittedly though, the camera which I purchased - a Fuji Finepix A900 - is inferior to me old Kodak Z612. Not that I didn't know that when I purchased it though. Being more a "point & shoot" camera I knew it would lack the goodies of my Z612, but I didn't think I'd miss them as much as I do. You see, the Z612 was a full out camera - the type of camera you're more likely to see at a semi-professional photo shoot. Equipped with a 12x zoom, a host of colour options (from sepia to black and white) as well as automatic light sensors, motion detection and a night-mode beyond approach, it had most all of the bells and whistles one needed. Sure, it wasn't an "HDR"...but, tis was damn good enough. My new Fuji has none of that stuff - the picture quality is mediocre, the video mode is sub-par and the zoom is a mere 3x. Blah.

Well, at least I got to finally update my profile picture (in case you hadn't already noticed). Yes, I know... You're probably wondering why I never smile in my self-portraits... Well, I just don't. I'm not necessarily unhappy, just one who likes to be taken serious in front of a device which has made people look stupid for a century. Know what I'm saying? Probably not...

One thing I will say about that picture is that the 51lbs I lost over the past week is clearly evident. Been starving myself - which sounds overly harsh, but meh.

Jesse James Film

Got opportunity to see the "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (by God, what a title) earlier today.

Now honestly, the main reason I wanted to see it was because it was filmed in Alberta (and that's clearly evident through out the film), but thankfully the film it's self was perfection. No qualms whatsoever. Amazing acting by the entire cast (as per usual, Pitt never fails to impress) amazing directing and story, excellent scenery and not to mention cinematography which is most possibly the best I've ever seen.

I don't think I can even put words to my feelings about this movie. Perfect in all respects.

Celebrity Pix World Closing!

Well, I've finally decided that it's time to close my Celebrity Picture Blog. I just haven't the time to keep it updated anymore.

I'm actually kind of disappointed to see it go. I had a great vision for it, but ultimately the time it takes to upload these pictures has resulted in a Blog which is very much being neglected. True, I could probably take the time to do at least one picture post per day, but... nah.

I've decided to officially (like it's all that serious...lol!) shut it down this coming Sunday. Until then, you can check it out if you'd like: Celebrity Pix World

Cold Daily Walk

Ughh... I just came back from my daily walk and the weather was just atrocious. Coldest day I can remember in a long time, and that's pretty sad considering it's only 8°C. Though that isn't that cold, when the humidity is mixed with the cold air, the result is awful. Oh and yeah, it was dark as hell out - you know, apocalypse style.

My bones ache.

Thankfully, it wasn't raining, but the next three days are going to be shit. According to the local weather channels the temperature is going to hold at the current figure, but we'll be greeted with the addition of rain.

So yeah, that's going to suck. But then it is Vancouver, isn't it? Captain over-rated! It always sucks.

"Blender" Magazine is Garbage

Actually, scratch the title of this post. It doesn't seem to be harsh enough, so, how about "Blender Magazine is a senseless, mindless piece of garbage magazine with shitty journalists." Good?

Yeah, that oughta work. You see, "Blender" has always been shit, but a list of the "40 worst lyricists ever" that they compiled this past week really shows how shitty this magazine is.

According to Blender, Sting is the worst lyricist anywhere. Now, sure, Stings lyrics aren't clever by any means - in fact, they are simple as hell - but I don't see how that should make Sting a candidate for being the worst lyricist ever. Surely they are worse lyricists.

But if you think that's bad, prepare to be further shocked by the stupidity of Blender.

They have the guts to name Neil Peart (Rush's lyricist and drummer) as the 2nd worst! Absolute blasphemy. And they go on to mention how Neil's lyrics in Rush's 1976 album "2112" are ridiculous. True, Neil's early lyrics were often inspired by science fiction and fantasy, but that doesn't mean they were terrible. Mind you, the reason they probably thought Neil's lyrics were terrible is because they didn't have the brain capacity to understand their symbolic meanings. In other words, these guys are probably the same bunch that though "The Trees" (written by Peart, performed by Rush) is actually about trees fighting with each other. Major "lol".

Additionally, they make no mention of Neil's lyrics past Rush's "2112" album. No such mention of the lyrics from "Moving Pictures", "Grace Under Pressure" or the album which had it's lyrics distributed to Montreal High schools, "Hold Your Fire". Had they actually taken the time to read any of the lyrics from HYF, they would have been dumbstruck by their complexity. Neil Peart does not (and never will) deserve a spot on this list. PERIOD.

And the stupidity does not cease with Mr. Peart - oh no, making an appearance on the list in at #10 is the one and only Jim Morrison. Now, I'm not a big fan of the The Doors, but you have got to be kidding me. And on a side note, they rank The Doors' "The End" as one of the worst songs ever. So, yet again, Blender fails.

And in at #18 is Ian Anderson! And all I can say to that is: "you have got be fucking kidding me". Putting Mr. Anderson on the list is every bit as retarded as putting Mr. Peart on the list. They even make claim that the opening lyrics of "Aqualung" are amongst the worst lyrics they've ever heard. Am I the only one who sees how fucking retarded these clowns are? Ian Anderson is a fantastic lyricist who has the ability to tell a story through out a song like a few others. His lyrics are also amongst the best I've ever heard at creating imagery for the mind.

And it seemingly never ends... In at #21 is Alanis Morsiette. Whether you like Alanis or not, she should most certainly not be on this list.

To keep it short and simple: BLENDER FAILS

Should you so have the desire to see their farce of a list, you can check it out

Movies & Television This Week

Online television that is...

So yeah, I watched the 3rd episode of the 2nd of Heroes this past Monday and am a little worried at where the show is going. The once cool and amazing coincidences which fuelled the first season are almost non-existent, and already three episodes in, very little has happened. In other the words, the show is starting to a drag it's weight. Additionally, having Claire and Peter fall into relationships means the show could head down the path of mindless teenage drama (see "The O.C.")

Yeah... I dunno. I remember when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was an excellent show, but as they piled the love drama on, the show took a fall. Rather than being about what it's title suggested, it was nothing more than a big love story.

Still, I eagerly wait for the next episode. Hopefully it's a bit more, uhh, exciting.

Other than my weekly dose of Heroes, I watched the pilot episode of "The Bionic Woman" last night. Isn't wasn't exactly bad, but wasn't all that great. Considering it's the pilot though, I plan on watching a few more episodes before I decide whether it's rubbish or not. Quite frankly, the only solid conclusion I've come to at the moment is that The Bionic Woman herself (played by Michelle Ryan) is cute (left).

On the movie front, I watched "Underworld" last night. I've seen it several times before - I own it - but could only think two things when watching it. Firstly, this is a great action movie and secondly, how the hell was the second movie so awful? Oh it's true, I thought the first movie was great and I'm not just saying that because Kate Beckinsale was in it. I honestly believe that it is a great film; both well directed and well-casted as well as boasting a great selection of characters and great animation/graphics. But of course, having Kate in Underworld adds a certain degree of allure to the film. First and foremost because she's kick ass, but also because she's undeniably sexy. Not to mention, Kate is a great actress. She's well spoken, and most definitely believable.

Also watched a film called "Big Nothing" just recently. Staring David Schwimmer, Simon Pegg and Natascha McElhone
it's a film about:

Charlie is an ex-teacher turned reluctant call center employee who gets fired on the first day. Distraught on being unable to provide for his daughter Emily and cop wife, Penelope, he is suddenly contacted by Gus, an aspiring scam artist who presents Charlie with a seemingly snag-free plan to make some cash: Blackmail Reverend Smalls a man of the cloth, who's frequently turned up in the company database of visitors to illegal porn-sites. Gus plans on extorting Reverend Smalls, with the intention of publicly exposing his secret shame, should he refuse, with this scandal potentially destroying the man's career. Normally cautious Charlie, is keen on participating in this scam, confident that with this money maker he'll garner from the deal and will finally help turn things around for him and his family.

Thanks to IMDB.com

It's an excellent film and though it sounds extremely serious, It's more of a black comedy than a gritty crime drama. Interestingly enough, though everyone in the movie has an American accent and supposedly living in Kansas, the movie was actually filmed on the Isle of Man.

Electronic Envy

Now that both Halo 3 and Project Gotham 4 have been released I am starting to feel what could be best described as "electronic envy". Yeah, now that most every gamer has their hands on an XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii or Playstation 3, I am feeling as if I'm missing out on the fun. Though, as I said some time ago, I was reluctant to purchase any of the new game systems due to poor technical quality, sub-par games and monthly-rent prices.

And I still believe a great deal of what I said, but hell, like any gamer I cannot resist the allure of a new Halo game. After enjoying the first two games - the second of which I currently own - I am feeling the need for Halo 3.

PGR4 would also be great as I've been enjoying the second game for some time now. PGR2's re-play is unlimited, but I'd love to be racing the Zonda F around the 'Ring with full wet weather effects.

Wish the systems weren't so bloody expensive...

And on the subject of electronics, I must admit that having no digital camera is a real burden. Been without if for a couple of months and the fact that I can't take pictures of anything is really starting to anger me. First and foremost, I'd love to update my profile picture. So, when I gather the cash, I can decide between purchasing an XBOX or a new digi camera. And I believe the camera is most definitely the better idea of the two.

Blogging

Wow, having just looked through my Blog archive I am almost dumbstruck to find out that I've been blogging for a solid 7 months. I'm amazed because it feels more like 1, maybe 2 months at the most.

Suffice to say, I'm glad that I decided to open a Blog. It gives me a peace of mind, a place where I can say (and talk about) anything I'd like and of course bitch, moan and complain. Additionally, It does well to fill my hours of boredom and, well, it's just exciting to update it because it's mine. Think of it like painting a murial; painting a new section (or writing a new post in this case) is an accomplishment, an occasion. And of course, a personal Blog does well to keep track of my life; seeing what I was thinking, or doing, back in March.

You know, when I started Blogging I was confident that I'd be writing a post per day, but obviously, I was way being far too naive. Shortly thereafter, I decided updating my Blog every two days would be more feasible, and though that worked for a couple of months, I soon found it to be tiring. I eventually realized writing on the basis of interest and time would be best the option and thus explains why some months have 19 posts where as others have 35+.

Though, whether I was writing 5 or 20 posts a month, I soon came to the conclusion that Blogging was an addiction. No doubt about it. Blogging is like playing a great video game; you just want more and more. And after a month of screwing around with my personal Blog, I opened one devoted to another great interest of mine, Kate Beckinsale. And following that I opened "The Speed Barrier" (in July) and just recently (in September), "Celebrity Pix World".

I must admit though, if there is any downside to having multiple Blogs, it's that it requires a great deal of dedication, time and work. People often fall into the Blogging trend without realizing such. Browsing around, you're guaranteed to stumble upon more than a few Blogs which have just 1 or 2 posts before it's owner decided it was too much work to update it. I definitely understand it though... As I mentioned some time last week, there is a strong possibility that I will be closing "Celebrity Pix World" due to insufficient time. Make no mistake, I knew It'd be hard work from the beginning, but thought I'd give it a go anyways.

Again, those Blogs are:

"Celebrity Pix World"

"The Speed Barrier"

KateBecks

And of course, the one you are now reading.

Blogging is just great. Though I must admit I never would have started one without the help of a friend. I have my friend James to thank for the inspiration for opening this Blog. Without him and his Blog, tis never would have happened. Thanks James! =)

==========

Oh, and by the way, a new episode of Heroes is on tonight. Cannot Effing wait.

Meanwhile, the new season of BBC's Top Gear started last night and I of course watched it. What a fantastic episode, and more in lines with the "old-school" Top Gear. Nice work boys.

Over and out.

Oct 4th

With a lack of imagination at the moment, I have yet to come up a concrete title for this random post. Thus is why it's called what it is.

Ahh, hmm, what should this post be about? Well, I guess it could be just about anything. Trouble is, I don't even really feel like writing right now, but absolutely hate to leave my Blog neglected. So then...

This week has been very much of blur. Frankly, I can't remember a whole lot of what has happened in the last four days, but I shall try and recall some of the things I've done:

Well, firstly, I watched the new episode of Heroes this past Monday. Intriguing episode and --ATTN: SPOILER -- was surprised at how well the story continued to play out. I thought with Hiro having time-traveled back to 1600's Japan and Kensei being a white man that the story was perhaps going no where, and that the show would possibly reveal it's demise by the time the second episode arrived (yeah, I'm critical). Thankfully, it hasn't and it would appear the Tim Kring has got a lot more in store for the show. C'mon, do any of you guys really believe that Sylar is dead? I sure as hell don't. Additionally, how long before Mohinder Suresh and Noah Bennett get into a situation they are unable to escape from?

And what about Nikki/Jessica Sanders? We didn't see her sweet face at all in episode #2. Thankfully though, the ever-cute Claire Bennett (played by the sweet Hayden Panettiere) made an expected appearance. I just knew that her friend from High School would find out about her rapid regeneration, but Christ all mighty, what the hell was Claire thinking by cutting her own pinkie toe off? Risky gamble, ain't it?

Although, on a side note, I'd love to be able to do that; make no mistake, I'd be cutting my hands off and then watching them regrow all day long!

*** Moving on ***

Watched a couple movies over the week. The first of two being "Serenity" - which I thought was rather boring and displayed awful acting talent, and the second being "Hot Fuzz" which I thought was very enjoyable. 6/10 for the first one, 9.0 for the latter.

And what else do I have to talk about? Well...

Weather's been mediocre, although thankfully there hasn't been as much rain as I had expected.

Been a busy week for my other Blogs, specifically
My Kate Beckinsale Blog which has been off the charts. The news and pictures as of late is seemingly endless. Unfortunately, My Celebrity-based Picture Blog hasn't been updated as much as I like lately. I am finding my time do so such ever increasingly declining and as a result, I feel that I will most possibly be closing that Blog very soon. It's truly is unfortunate because I loved the premise, but I just haven't the time.

In automotive news, Lexus has finally released the final specifications for their "IS-F" performance flagship. That 5.0 litre 8-Cylinder is churning out 423bhp (a slight shade more than the BMW M3) and a monstrous 372lb-ft of torque. The latter figure meaning the IS-F outguns the M3 by some 70lb-ft of torque. It's largely behind the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG though... Nevertheless, I very much look forward to comparisons amongst the trio - that's excluding the Audi RS4 mind you.

Though, while I greatly appreciate the vehicle's technological specifications, I do question how good it'll look in the flesh. Looks quite bloated in the odd photo...

I'm afraid there isn't much else to say... So, have great weekend all.

Oct 1st

Ahh yes, today is that day and at this moment, it's 3:43 PM.

As mentioned in my previous post, the weather this past weekend was atrocious. Just awful in every way, and to think that this is merely the beginning of winter! Six months of rain, eh? The suicide rate must be through the roof; thus most probably explains why Curt Cobain (Nirvana lead signer) committed suicide (lived in Seattle)....

Oh, ok, it was an awful joke.

Thankfully, today's weather was much more, oh how should I say it, livable sounds 'bout right. Whilst it's still a bit nippy, the general temperature has risen and hell, it hasn't rained in some 7 hours. Having skipped my daily walk yesterday - because of that bloody weather - I was able to make up for it by doing my regular walking routine twice. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice I was the only one wearing sandals with jeans, but then that's quite irrelevant isn't it?

Anyways, a new episode of Heroes is on tonight and I cannot wait.

And now, I leave you with these two mouth watering shots of the new Porsche 997 GT2:

Specatcular, don't ya think?
