Accusation

My God. What a terrible end to a day at the beach.

Ok, so…it all started off as a normal trip to the beach to take some shots of the boats off the water, read my “Dearly Devoted Dexter” novel and last but not least, soak up some brilliant rays for a radiant skin tan. When I first arrived, Jericho Beach was pretty busy with people…doing, uh, beach stuff. I start off a few logs towards the back of the beach whilst reading “Dearly Devoted Dexter” and as I read through my 35 pages (some 5 chapters), I noticed that the beach was starting to clear out and front-ocean-viewing logs were becoming available. As a result, I decided to pack up and move up to one of the logs closest to the ocean. As it happens, the log I decide to sit at had two empty cans of Coors Light beer left behind from the last party. Did I care? No of course not. I felt neither the reason to conceal or clean them up as they were not mine.

Some one hour later, the beach police (Think Erik Estrada, aka: fake police) start combing the beach for trouble; fair enough as dawn approaches. And as I am doing absolutely nothing inappropriate, I continue to mind my business. As they (two of the pinheads) approach my location, one of the two pulls up towards me and starts smiling at me. And because I was in a cheery mood, I decided to smile back. I mean, why wouldn’t I? Soon enough, I’m approached by the female office and she and points towards the beer cans. She comes over and as she’s pouring out one of the beer can’s (one of them had a tiny bit left in it), asks if I had been drinking. I said: no! To which she replies, “You’re lying”. And at this stage I got very angry.

Un-fucking believable.

I then replied: “I don’t drink (which is 100% true) and do NOT like the accusation”. She then replied, “Well there are two cans beside you”. And that was pretty much it….I made no further eye contact (as I felt I was about to start in on a serious argument) and they left on their merry way. I cannot even tell you how much it pissed me off. Sure, by the looks of it they could have been my beer cans, but how the hell did they know that? Accusations like those are what get people sued. And what further pisses me off is that I’m one who doesn’t drink. In fact, I’ve never been drunk (only buzzed) in my entire life. I cannot stand drinking; the taste of alcohol, nor it’s effect on my body.

As it turns out, I left some 15 minutes later to where I spotted the Park Ranger in her white Ford Ranger Pick-Up talking to someone else about something else. After that person left…I told her the story, about the accusation and she apologized on behalf of whoever accused me. She remarked, “that’s not the way it should go”. She said she’d bring it up with the board (which, let’s face it, is highly doubtful)... Nevertheless, I felt much more calmed after telling someone else about this incident. I especially felt better when I told the Park Ranger that if I had to take a breathalyzer to prove that someone was an idiot, I would. And I seriously would.

Pity a beautiful day has to come to an end like that.

Long time folks!

Anyway...

That was the day I saw Rush live in concert for the first ever. A day where I shook the hands of two of my greatest heroes - Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson. The show it's self was absolutely incredible. The performance was unmatchable, and the stage set (lighting and all) unbelievable. And the set list...absolute perfection. When packed with not only 'Mission' and 'Witch Hunt', but 'Digital Man' and 'Ghost of a Chance', you cannot complain about anything.

It was an incredible day, and one which I'll never forget. Here's what I'll have forever: Me and my dad standing between Al and Geddy.

Hello from Vancouver!

Thanks to my mother, I was able to pick up a new camera this past Thursday. It's a Sony Cybershot DSC-H3, and it's awesome.

Reality Sets In

Suffice to say, Sarah and I have had numerous more correspondences since my last blog post pertaining to the subject, and they're always amazing. Her messages never fail to bring a smile to my face. I feel so happy. I find myself clicking my email open 5,000 times a day, eagerly awaiting her response of course. And in that moment, I can truly see the strength of love (or what is seemingly so). Everything else in your mind just fades; things that were once bothering (or bothered) you fade away like dust in a storm.

We've gotten personal as we're now revealing secrets and telling our various life experiences.

I told her that I wished that I like in Kamloops or Calgary (or that she lived in Vancouver) so that we could meet. And her response to that was:

Sarah:
I wish i lived in Vancouver or somewhere closer to you id really love to meet you one day you seem like an amazing guy.

Of course, after she said that, I said the exact same thing about her; essentially, I more or less told her how much I liked her. She's just a fantastic person.

As her email went to a close, I had the slight feeling that - as it had for me before - reality had set in. We live so far away from each other. We'll never get the chance to really get to know each other despite our great connection.

Naturally, I do realize that this isn't the end of the world. I haven't any doubts that I'll meet another girl who I connect with. But until that time, the great distance between us (and the personality connection) is surely leaving me with a degree of heart-ache.

Head Over Heels (Pt.2)

Sarah (see here if you haven't a clue as to what I'm talking about) not only think it's "adorable" that I shower in the pitch dark (yeh, it's a long story), but has started to call me "hunny". Ahhh!

Moreover, our conversations have undoubtedly gotten deeper. More personal, and even a little more flirty. And the similarities between us continue - like me, she doesn't drink or smoke.

It's starting to kill me.... I'M starting to get far too hyped about this whole thing.

In the meantime, here's new photo of her.

Now tell me: does she not looking amazing? Love is in the air.

Head Over Heels

Oh no, It's happened. I think I've fallen head over heels for a girl on HotorNot.com. I kid you not.

But before I breach on the subject, allow me to say that within a little over a week and and two days of joining for the website's "Meet Me" application, I have already managed to achieve no less than 6 doubles matches. Of the six, only two of them I accepted to meet first; the other four accepted to meet me before I even clicked them...

Mind you, that's only the double matches. They were a couple of others that I clicked no to. But by and large, the girls are coming my way - not the other way around. And I'm greatly surprised by that, especially as some of these girls are just gorgeous. One of the girls by the way, is the girl in the second picture with pink hair and glasses in
this particular post.

Though, thus far I've only had the chance to speak with two of them. The first of which lived in Abbotsford and had 3 month old daughter. Yeah, I know what you're thinking... Because I was thinking it too. Worse yet, she just got out of that relationship that left her with the baby a week prior to talking with me.

The problem however, was not the fact that she had a baby (although, I'm not aiming for a relationship as such), but more the fact that she was about as interesting as a stone. No personality whatsoever!

But anyways, I had clicked "yes" to this beautiful girl named "Sarah" who was apparently living somewhere in British Columbia, and suffice to say, she clicked "yes" to me. And ever since that, we've been emailing each other back and forth(totaling several times now).

Obviously we haven't met each other in the flesh, but her personality is amazing. When we first started talking, she said that she had been looking for a boyfriend and clicked "yes" to me as she notably saw that we shared a great deal of the same interests.

After our emails, I have come to the conclusion she is not only the type of girl that I'd want to date, but marry... *shocking*. All-around, she's just incredible. Sassy, interesting, fun and undoubtedly intelligent. Our view points/interests are sookly similar: she admits to being insecure; she's a hopeless romantic; she likes the same television shows as I do; she likes the same movies as I do; she doesn't like new age music; she's an agnostic and she doesn't like big cities as she admits to being a small town kind of girl. The similarities between us are seemingly endless.

And she loves to help people, has been to poverty stricken nations such as Iraq, Africa and Pakistan and is currently going to college to become a Psychiatrist.

There is however, one problem and it's a big one. She currently lives in Calgary, and is moving back to Kamloops... When she told me that, I felt as if I had been gutted like a fish and as our discussions get deeper and deeper, I feel that every bit more gutted. Needless to say, Kamloops is not in Vancouver... It's more than an hours drive away!

And yes... Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but had you the same conversation that I've had with her, you'd be thinking the same. Ehh, I dunno what to say other than the fact I really like her. The sooner I realize that she'll be living in Kamloops and out of reach, the better I'll be. :(

And yes, before you ask, I do have a few pictures of her. Though I'll only post two...

Yes, the pictures are webcam quality (in other words, rubbish), but I've seen enough. I'm convinced.

Snow in Vancouver?!

No joke there my fellow readers.

As had been expected, it started snowing this weekend and below is the scene some 2 hours ago:

I love it! Honestly, I'll take snow over rain any day of the week. The reason wjy snow is so great is because you, a) don't get wet as you do with rain, b) don't get depressed because it's bright, and C) it's looks beautiful!

The people of Vancouver however, would probably disagree. Aside from a few kids, most everyone else absolutely hates it; complaining that it's too cold. Cold? Nigga, please. For a Vancouver native, sure, but for a Calgary native such as my myself? No way. It's not even -10 out there.

Did I go for my daily walk(s)? You damn right I did - three times in fact. Loved every moment of it. I love snow!

Cousin in Vancouver

Wow.

This morning I logged onto Facebook to find a private message in my Inbox from a cousin, a cousin that I didn't even remember I had!

The last time I would have seen this particular cousin would have been when I was about 5 years old at my Mother's sister's wedding; she's my Mother's sister's kid. How cool is that?

Her name is Kirstin, she's studying for a Masters in Environmental Toxicology and lives in Vancouver! Stranger still, we even share a few favourite musicians - Loreena McKennitt, Cat Stevens and Gordon Lightfoot.

Here she is:

But what's with the sudden contact after all of these years? Well, yeah, I wondered that too. As my Mother - her aunt - is on her buddy list I can only assume that after I ignored my Mothers request to accept her as a friend, she contacted Kirstin.

In any event, it's cool to have contact with her.

P.S. - Still debating whether I should accept my Mother's request.

Cold Daily Walk

Ughh... I just came back from my daily walk and the weather was just atrocious. Coldest day I can remember in a long time, and that's pretty sad considering it's only 8°C. Though that isn't that cold, when the humidity is mixed with the cold air, the result is awful. Oh and yeah, it was dark as hell out - you know, apocalypse style.

My bones ache.

Thankfully, it wasn't raining, but the next three days are going to be shit. According to the local weather channels the temperature is going to hold at the current figure, but we'll be greeted with the addition of rain.

So yeah, that's going to suck. But then it is Vancouver, isn't it? Captain over-rated! It always sucks.

Oct 1st

Ahh yes, today is that day and at this moment, it's 3:43 PM.

As mentioned in my previous post, the weather this past weekend was atrocious. Just awful in every way, and to think that this is merely the beginning of winter! Six months of rain, eh? The suicide rate must be through the roof; thus most probably explains why Curt Cobain (Nirvana lead signer) committed suicide (lived in Seattle)....

Oh, ok, it was an awful joke.

Thankfully, today's weather was much more, oh how should I say it, livable sounds 'bout right. Whilst it's still a bit nippy, the general temperature has risen and hell, it hasn't rained in some 7 hours. Having skipped my daily walk yesterday - because of that bloody weather - I was able to make up for it by doing my regular walking routine twice. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice I was the only one wearing sandals with jeans, but then that's quite irrelevant isn't it?

Anyways, a new episode of Heroes is on tonight and I cannot wait.

And now, I leave you with these two mouth watering shots of the new Porsche 997 GT2:

Specatcular, don't ya think?

Random Thoughts pt.2

All of my random thoughts as of this moment:

Yesterday was a slightly chilly, albeit beautiful typical fall day. The trees in the suburbs in 'Couver look spectacular. They're typical firey red and orange, but oh so much more special than Calgary. On the other hand, today is anything but nice. Right now, it's both cold and raining. Ughhh..

My annoying housemates (I really hate calling them that) - who left for their cabin last Thursday - have yet to come back, but I'm expecting them to come back any time soon. And I'm dreading that moment like few things else.

The Rush "Different Stages" 3 set CD I ordered last Monday and expected delivery of yesterday, has yet to come. The merchandise site says it'll take 2 to 3 weeks (on average), but seeing as I got my last CD in a 7 days (including a weekend) you should understand why I expected it yesterday. I know, I know - I'm being too pushy; I've got to give these things time.

**Please come today**

Meanwhile, have any one else noticed how colourful and exciting my Blog is when in contrast with others? Seriously, most others have a Blog similar to that of a real journal. Bleak, stark and honestly, un-interesting.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose, but there's no way I could stand having a Blog with no character whatsoever.

So then, what else is there to bitch about? Hmm, how about..Nah..

Oh wait, I've thought of something.

Had you not already known, I write car articles for both AutoSavant.net and my own Automotive Blog. I enjoy writing them, but surely not reading them. Most anything and everything I write anywhere - be it on a forum, AutoSavant.net, or even this Blog, I absolutely refuse to re-read. I cannot stand reading my own writing. It always seems so contrived, so embarrassing, so idiotic. I hate it and thus is the reason you'll commonly see spelling mistakes and muddy sentences through out much of my writing; I don't re-read my stuff.

Anyhoo, that's all for the moment.

Rainy Sunday

It would appear that the rain season - aka: "Winter" - all 6+ months of it - is now looming upon us.

It's gloomy, cold, bitter and wet outside as I write this entry. Fuck - the only thing I have to say is: "Snow for the win".

Anyway..

Got a chance two watch a few movies last night. The first being which I mentioned earlier, "The Quiet", and "Cellular". And before you ask: yes, I'm a huge movie buff so I watch a ton of them. The latter was pretty awful, but offered simplistic and basic entertainment perfect for any Saturday night.

Hmm...What else?

Oh yes, I have yet to mention I ordered a new Rush CD last Monday - "Different Stages". It's a 3 disc live set recorded in 1978, 1994 and 1997. Expecting delivery tomorrow... Can't wait.

The Fall, Vancouver, My Birthday, etc

Gosh darnit. As we head into September here in Vancouver, it's evident that Fall is upon us. The weather has drastically changed from much of August which was warm and sunny, to what is best described as a bitter cold and bone aching, yet sunny day. It's still pretty damn decent though.

And of course, the trees which have already turned orange and red, look pretty damn awesome. Yet despite that, I miss Calgary's Fall's. Admittedly, it's even colder, but it's somehow more magical. More enjoyable as you know the next step to the weather pattern is white snow, rather than gray skies with a bunch of awful and continuous rain. Come to think of it, Vancouver as a whole, has already worn me out.

It's quite a tiring city. Nice landscapes and what-not, but it's overly busy, loud and annoying. This false "we are laid back" attitude, is such bullshit. Furthermore, the city's garbage men have been on strike for a total of 6 weeks! And frankly, I'm sick of our garbage pilling up in the backyard. Should you be familiar with British Columbia, such a strike probably won't be a surprise as that's why it's citizens do best. They strike and they strike until they get the money they think the deserve, but of course, do not really deserve. I fucking hate unions and make no mistake, British Columbia is the union capital of Canada.

Not to mention, there is no parking anywhere. Those asshole developers have bought up most every piece of free land for overpriced condo's and apartments. If you planning on going somewhere it's best to plan out where you'll be parking and in 'Couver, that could mean parking three blocks away from you're intended destination. And if it's raining, considering you're day ruined.

Anymore complaints? Yeah, a bloody boat load, but I'll save them for a later time.

*** In other news ***

My Birthday is this Sunday. Anyone want to schedule a meeting (even if extremely brief in nature) with either Kate Beckinsale and/or Sophia Bush for me? I would cherish the chance to meet either of these women whom I very much admire and have the utmost respect for.

There I go dreaming again..

Hey There!

Ok... I've got exactly five minutes to write this post.

Starting... now!

That's what it's been like.... Every free minute of mine in the last two weeks has been filled by just about everything you can think of.

Last weeks weathers was absolutely gorgeous. Every day (and I mean every), was ideal for shorts and T-shirts; not to mention various trips to Jericho beach where the hotties lay in search of a sun tan.

I'm happy to say that I got a great tan myself; and also got a lot of miles (walking that is) behind my belt.

Last Friday, however, was anything but pleasant as the sky belted rain like there was no tomorrow. Such a trend followed until Tuesday when it finally decided to clear up and give us the summer we deserve. Thankfully, since Tuesday the weather has continued to be fantastic. It's nice and sunny at the moment, with a high of 24°C expected. Same goes for tomorrow, but it looks like it'll rain on Sunday and then go back to 23°C of sunny weather for Monday.

Retarded, I know..

When I wasn't out and about enjoying the beautiful weather, I devoted my time to updating My Kate Beckinsale Blog (which I have to do considering I've now got a small following) and posting on GermanCarZone.

Speaking of GCZ - Some of you might remember that I previously talked about being involved in the development of a spinoff site from GCZ. That particular site is now called "CurbZone" and it's an off-topic/miscellaneous-based forum where most everything goes. While it still has a few glitches and bugs, the site is up and running - welcoming new members!

It's got some great additions too, like MySpace inspired user profiles; a game arcade and a Blogging system (not online at the moment, but will be implemented soon enough).

Other than that...

- The 2007 Skins.be Babe Tournament which I'm participating in (and spoke of in a previous post) is going well. Both of the babes I'm sponsoring, Kate Beckinale and Sophia Bush, are do mighty well. I have no doubts they'll both succeed to the "knockout" stage.

Meanwhile, I fitted a few new pictures to my Blog (right side bar) which aside from displaying how cool the Lexus LS600h's LED headlamp units are; showcases artwork from British-born Sybil Andrews.

Here's some of her fantastic work for you to enjoy.

Cheers.

Vancouver vs Calgary

If you haven't followed my blog since my first post, or aren't a GermanCarZone member - you wouldn't know that I recently moved from Calgary, Alberta to Vancouver, British Columbia.

So then, how does Vancouver compare to Calgary - and how do I like it?

The cultural differences between the two are bigger than most would expect (not me though ;-).. I'm used to "cultural shock"

The people of Vancouver all appear as if they have a very layed out, cool vibe. When in truth, they are just as, if not more so hectic and insane as people from Calgary. It's quite a bullshit vibe actually, but then that isn't hard to pick up on.

What I've also noticed is that despite the massive Asian influx which Vancouver had in the 1980's, more racism exists here than it does in Calgary. The hostility still exists and it doesn't stop at out of country immigrants. They tend to have a strong disliking for Albertans ;)

I was recently at a store when I was required to show my Identification and said, here's my Alberta's licence - she remarked, "they have those up there Alberta"

I remarked - "yep and so much more."

Whether it was intended as a joke or not, it pissed me off. Oh, and don't worry, I'm not some shit kicking Albertan.

Also worth noting is the daily newspapers. They are much different than Albertan ones, in fact, unlike Alberta papers they most always feature an article on global warming.

Conservatives vs Liberals!

How the hell is this turning into a politic war? Well that's the truth, ain't it?

Actually I'd rather see articles about global warming than articles about Ralph Klein's ball cap. Which leads to the next question, am I Liberal or a Conservative? Well I believe in Kyoto and other actions inforced by the Liberals, but I'd say I stand by a few of the Liberal actions.

So I'm a: Conservalib

Vancouver

Stores:

One thing that really pisses me off about the big V is that the cost of land is so high that 80% of the people here are renting. The cost of land is way, way to expensive.

What's also very different from Calgary - is that stores of any sort are the size of a closest. Because the land is too expensive and the land space limited, Home Hardware (a Home improvement store) is forced to rent out 1600 square feet, rather than the 5000 or so square feet which they'd usually rent in Calgary. Everything is like that. Mind you, Starbucks tends to have some of the bigger lots and holy smokes, they've got many, many stores.

Weather:

Weather has been quite fantastic. When I first arrived it rained like a mofo, in fact - it rained for five days straight which in turn caused floods downtown and everywhere else. Even I had terrible internet outages and issues. Over the last couple of weeks it's been great though. Currently into spring, Vancouver's sunny days rarely get hotter than 25 degrees Celsius. The last weeks have graced with 20 degrees - perfect for shorts and t-shirts.

One thing that severely annoys me is than when it rains, I seem so depressed. Same with everyone else I suppose, but I must be honest, that's where snow is better. It's nice and white (or muddy) On the other hand, I hate my hands freezing.

Cars:

Calgary has a lot of expensive vehicles, but Vancouver blows it away. From my current housing location I've seen two Bentley Flying Spur's (following each other!!) and more than twenty 911's (all generations)

Everyday you're guaranteed to see something awesome.

Despite some of the ranting, I like Vancouver and can't wait to see what else it has in store.

Today's Updates

What does today's updates consist of? Well, for starters - I'm nearly recovered from a bad cold which has restricted me to my computer chair for two days.

Rush announced tour dates and none are in Vancouver. One show in Seattle and Oregon and then they skip Vancouver and go to Calgary (lived there one month ago..) Pisses me off, but there is the chance of getting tickets for the show and flying down to Calgary. It's not a very high chance though..

Lastly, I've been working with different video developer systems and have created this video to hallmark some of my favourite gals. Enjoy!

BTW, as I right this, it's 3:38 AM. Been a long time since I've done anything like that.
