Awful Sleep
I had such a shitty sleep last night. Aside from repeated awakenings, tossing and turning, I must have had at least five dreams. And my dreams are never normal, their never about winning the lottery. Oh no, they're always about everything I was thinking over the course of day before I hit the sack. Thus means they are usually 1000 subjects combined into one surreal package. Here is a brief description of the dreams I had last night:
1. A Pakistani security guard (no, it's not a racist dream) refused to let me into my own building because he said he would have to take the time to deactivate the alarm system and he was too tired to do it. What the fuck, eh?
2. There was a girl who had lost her pink ball cap and it turns out some other girl had stolen it and was wearing it under three ballcaps. She revealed that she had stolen the ball-cap, to everyone (including the original owner), in a movie theatre.
And last, but certainly not least:
I dreamt that I went to the local Porsche dealer here in Vancouver to see an Audi R8 and once I got the chance to see it, I thought it looked absolutely terrible. For whatever reason, my mind molted a late 80's Toyota MR2 rear end onto the R8.
WTF?

Oct 4th
Ahh, hmm, what should this post be about? Well, I guess it could be just about anything. Trouble is, I don't even really feel like writing right now, but absolutely hate to leave my Blog neglected. So then...
This week has been very much of blur. Frankly, I can't remember a whole lot of what has happened in the last four days, but I shall try and recall some of the things I've done:

Well, firstly, I watched the new episode of Heroes this past Monday. Intriguing episode and --ATTN: SPOILER -- was surprised at how well the story continued to play out. I thought with Hiro having time-traveled back to 1600's Japan and Kensei being a white man that the story was perhaps going no where, and that the show would possibly reveal it's demise by the time the second episode arrived (yeah, I'm critical). Thankfully, it hasn't and it would appear the Tim Kring has got a lot more in store for the show. C'mon, do any of you guys really believe that Sylar is dead? I sure as hell don't. Additionally, how long before Mohinder Suresh and Noah Bennett get into a situation they are unable to escape from?
And what about Nikki/Jessica Sanders? We didn't see her sweet face at all in episode #2. Thankfully though, the ever-cute Claire Bennett (played by the sweet Hayden Panettiere) made an expected appearance. I just knew that her friend from High School would find out about her rapid regeneration, but Christ all mighty, what the hell was Claire thinking by cutting her own pinkie toe off? Risky gamble, ain't it?
Although, on a side note, I'd love to be able to do that; make no mistake, I'd be cutting my hands off and then watching them regrow all day long!
*** Moving on ***
Watched a couple movies over the week. The first of two being "Serenity" - which I thought was rather boring and displayed awful acting talent, and the second being "Hot Fuzz" which I thought was very enjoyable. 6/10 for the first one, 9.0 for the latter.

And what else do I have to talk about? Well...
Weather's been mediocre, although thankfully there hasn't been as much rain as I had expected.
Been a busy week for my other Blogs, specifically My Kate Beckinsale Blog which has been off the charts. The news and pictures as of late is seemingly endless. Unfortunately, My Celebrity-based Picture Blog hasn't been updated as much as I like lately. I am finding my time do so such ever increasingly declining and as a result, I feel that I will most possibly be closing that Blog very soon. It's truly is unfortunate because I loved the premise, but I just haven't the time.
In automotive news, Lexus has finally released the final specifications for their "IS-F" performance flagship. That 5.0 litre 8-Cylinder is churning out 423bhp (a slight shade more than the BMW M3) and a monstrous 372lb-ft of torque. The latter figure meaning the IS-F outguns the M3 by some 70lb-ft of torque. It's largely behind the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG though... Nevertheless, I very much look forward to comparisons amongst the trio - that's excluding the Audi RS4 mind you.
Though, while I greatly appreciate the vehicle's technological specifications, I do question how good it'll look in the flesh. Looks quite bloated in the odd photo...

I'm afraid there isn't much else to say... So, have great weekend all.

"Interview" - Film

Never seen a film like it... And oh my, what amazing acting performances by the two. Sienna Miller is so much more than a pretty face, she truly is a superb actress and Buscemi, well, his skills are just obvious aren't they? Buscemi's acting work looks even more impressive when you find out that he was the one who also directed and wrote the movie's screen play. Bravo Mr. Buscemi!
But be warned, If you want action, this is not the movie to watch. As it's a Sundance Film Festival film, it requires actual concentration and intelligence to enjoy it.
Once again, an excellent film and an instant favourite. 10/10.

Other Recent Movies
'1408'
This movie got panned by most critics, but I think they're idiots. I suppose the fact that it was more a physiological thriller rather than a in-your-face one didn't help it acheive high marks, nor the fact that it was more or less a one-man film.
Screw 'em.. 1408 is one of the best horror movies I've seen in a while.
8.5/10
'Captivity'
God damn, is Elisha Cuthbert a beautiful girl or what? She looks outrageously sexy with earrings too. Don't ask me where that came from, lol.
Oh..I'm sorry I've detracted. The movie it's self, was AWFUL
5/10
'Spiderman 3'
This is most likely the worst movie ever made; and no, I'm not kidding.
While the first two movies were indeed quite awful, this one takes the prize. I didn't expect it was going to be an award winning film in the first place, but I didn't expect it be this bad.
Aside from a ton of awful scenes and graphical animation, I wasn't sure if I was watching Spiderman or Beverly Hills 90210. I don't watch Spiderman because I need lessons about morals, I watch it because I wan to see Spiderman. A story of morals? Ha - about a story of making shitty prequels to make a large profit.
Holy Christ.. The acting and script were just too bad for words.
Lastly, what in the blue hell were they thinking we they had Tobey Maguire dancing down the street?
2/10

Breaking & Entering (Film)

Saw this film last Friday and all I have to say is...excellent.
Truthfully, I thought it was just excellent in all aspects and am confused silly by the rating it's been given by the 13,000 some viewers at IMDB who rate the film with an average score of 6.5 out of 10.
Excuse me? I'd say this film easily deserves a 9.0, perhaps a score even as high as 9.5.
Going into this film I hadn't much clue as to what it was about. The only thing I knew was it was about an architect who suffers a break-in at his studio. Little did I know such an event would result in the lead character's (the superb Jude Law) life being forever changed.
Without trying to give too much of the film away:
Jude Law's character, Will Francis, is currently in a relationship with Robin Wright Penn's character, Liv, that is spiraling downhill. The character of Liv is from Sweden and has brought along her young autistic child along with her to Britain where she met Will Francis. From there on, their already troubled relationship further goes towards the edgy rocks with the encounter of a break-in and the child who committed the particular crime; and a woman (played by the beautiful Juliette Binoche) who Jude Law's character falls in love with.
I cannot explain anymore without giving the story away, but to keep it short: I thought it was an excellent story. Well assembled with little gaps - proper continuity all through out the two hour film.
Contrary to what the films advertising gives away, this film is not a crime drama, but rather a love/life story.
Acting/Casting/etc:
Acting was another strong aspect of this movie. Most everyone put on a superb job, especially Juliette Binoche, Martin Freeman and Jude Law who played their roles like there was no tomorrow (sorry for the cliche..)
The casting of this movie was also excellent. I was glad to see Martin Freeman (from the U.K. version of 'The Office' who played 'Tim' on the series) receive a role in this movie. His acting is superb. A 'natural' if I ever seen one.
Verdict: Great movie!

Favourite Actress'
So..pipe off!
Julianne Moore
While I'll admit Mrs. Moore has been in her share mediocre films, that truth is that she rarely fails to shine. She comes off as a solid, well adaptable actress with an impressive movie catalog. Film highlights include: 'Children of Men'; 'The Hours'; 'The Shipping News', 'Hannibal', etc.
Kate Beckinsale
What does John Travolta say in Pulp Fiction? "This is a moral test of oneself testing loyalty of.."
Yeah.. that works.
On a more serious note, I fully believe Mrs. Beckinsale has ability to be an excellent actress. Frankly and as I've stated once before, she hasn't really gotten the opportunity to show her absolute best. Having said that, she's certainly not a bad actress - some of the films she's already headlined (such as 'Serendipity', 'TipToes' and 'Vacancy') have showboated her already impressive acting abilities.
Kate Winslet
I wasn't too fond of Kate Winslet after I saw Titanic, but when I got a chance to see her play the role of 'Bistey Bloom' in 'The Life of David Gale', I was throughly impressed. After I saw 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', - I was blown away.
Jennifer Connelly
Performances in such films as 'Requiem For A Dream'; 'Pollock'; 'A Beautiful Mind'; 'Blood Diamond' and 'The House of Sand & Fog' require she is on my list. Jen is a top notch actress!
Rachel Weisz
According to IMDB, she was a 'radical feminist' though out University. Lol.. Anyways, she is indeed one of my favourite actress' because.. she's just great. Not to mention, just like Beckinsale and Winslet, she can pull off an impeccable American accent.
Scarlett Johansson
Let me say it simple by saying: I could not believe 'Lost in Translation' was more or less, her film debut. She's everything a talented actress should be!
Judi Dench
She's just great. Period.
Cate Blanchett
See above reasons

"Ocean's Thirteen"
Did I think it was any good? Uhh, no, not really. It was surely better than the second film, but rubbish compared to the first film. The story was overwrought (as most everything else), the script was poorly written and the cinematography rather terrible.
Verdict: Weak
6.5/10

"V For Vendetta"
I just saw "V For Vendetta" last Friday and I have one word to describe my feelings for it: awesome (and brilliant and amazing). My first watch of this film has already secured it a spot on my favourite movie list and let me tell you, that doesn't happen very often. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with this movie - in fact I didn't have a clue what It was about. Not a clue. The only thing I knew was that Natalie Portman was in it.
Anyhow, I decided to watch it and it turned out be exactly my type of movie. I've got admit to having a soft spot for movie subjects which display narcissism and anarachy. The whole message of a goverment feeding the public lies to enpower a new regime and essentially "feeding them fear" is a topic which is very relevant. We all have our different views, but this is what I believe a current admistration is doing. Actually I think they've been doing it for years, but anyhow...I was throughly impressed on how this story was put together and it's symbolic meaning.
Unlike most of today's movies, this falls short of being one-sided, meaningless, money making trash.

But what is such a movie? Well the categories I saw it put under where "action and "drama". The fact that the "anarchist" wears a Shakesphere mask certainly adds to the drama effect, but it's more than that. The way in which the lines are spoken and written and the way the story plays out begs "threatre play".
The acting of this this movie is also very, very good (if not brilliant). I hadn't seen Natalie Portman in many other movies, but wow! Her acting was just superb (as with the rest of the cast). The fact that Ms. Portman is not of British decent, but displays a perfect accent is unbelievable.
Excellent script, scenes, acting, actors, story, music score, etc. It's a clear ten out of ten in my eyes.
